ART - SOUL: Hamptons Celebrates Black Artistry

Southampton, New York Jul 24, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - ART & SOUL: Hamptons returned July 1820, 2025, with a sold-out, three-day cultural celebration that brought together Black artists, culinary masters, tastemakers, wellness enthusiasts, and thought leaders, in the heart of the East End. The immersive experience unfolded across multiple iconic venues, spotlighting the richness of Black creative expression through visual art, Caribbean cuisine, healthy vegan delights, summer cocktails, live music, and spirited conversations.
This years edition was presented in partnership with the Southampton African American Museum, Southampton Arts Center, and Mas House & BIPOC Art Studio, with the support from community partners New England Sweetwater Farm & Distillery, The Wine Stylings of Charles Springfield, Early Burdz, and Hidden Gem NY.
Throughout the weekend, invited guests and attendees were treated to:
- Outdoor Art Exhibition featuring artists: Reynoir Lewis, Laura R. Gadson, and Suliman Onque
- Film Screening of ERASED, narrated and executive produced by English actor Idris Elba, and a film talkback with executive producer Sean David Johnson, moderated by Brenda Simmons, founder and CEO of the Southampton African American Museum. This special screening is supported by National Geographic
- Private Museum Tour of MAs House & BIPOC Art Studio on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation led by artist Jeremy Dennis
- Red Carpet Experience captured by published photographer Kurt Leggard
- Live music by flutist Dwayne Kerr (Erykah Badu band)

Elevating the ambiance were event décor design company Planned by Sue and luxury floral designs by April & Ashley which contributed to the lively celebration and photographed moments of Black joy.
An inspiring mix of cultural influencers, artists, creatives, and thought leaders made an appearance and added their perspective to the weekend. From actors to curators to designers, collectors, and wellness experts, their participation helped elevate ART & SOUL: Hamptons into a true celebration of Black excellence across disciplines. Special guests included award-winning actress Novi Brown (BETs Sistas), philanthropist Jean Shafiroff, architect Peter Marino, beauty influencer Tatiana Lewis, Hamptons socialite and publisher Vanessa Gordon (East End Taste), Hamptons socialite and publisher Vanessa Leggard (Hamptons MouthPiece), Dr. Georgette Grier-Key (Eastville Community Historical Society of Sag Harbor), host and entertainer Kevin Thompson, preservationist and writer Michael Henry Adams, Donna Roderick (National President of The Drifters Inc.), celebrity fashion stylist Esther Lamour, journalist Nikita Stewart (New York Times), publisher Cynthia Horner (Right ON!), hotelier Dede Gotthelf (Southampton Inn), and Assembly Member Rebecca A.
