Film Critic Joseph Holmes Begins Production on Debut Feature Film ‘Jim vs the Future’

New York City, New York Aug 9, 2024 (Issuewire.com) - The film is written and will be directed by Joseph Holmes in his feature film debut. Holmes is a notable film critic whose work has appeared in numerous prestigious outlets such as The New York Times, Christianity Today, Relevant Magazine, and more. He is also the co-host of the popular and multi award-winning podcast The Overthinkers.
The film is being produced by Holmes podcast co-host and indie-film veteran Nathan Clarkson, who also stars in the film. Clarkson is a prolific actor and filmmaker who has appeared in movies like The Purge and popular TV series like Mr. Robot, and produced and directed numerous hit independent films including Dont Know Jack, and the upcoming Western Bright Sky.
Jim vs the Future is a sci-fi, multiverse thriller about a graduate student named Jim (played by newcomer Kyle Trivanovich), who is knocked out and tied to a chair by a man named Fred (Nathan Clarkson) who claims to be from the future. Fred tells Jim that Jim has to break up with his fiancé Kathy or the future will be destroyed.
Principal photography for JIM VS THE FUTURE begins September 2024.
