The Undeniable Street View: World-first interactive website documents the true destruction of war-torn Ukraine
London, England Feb 20, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - In line with the one year anniversary of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, a groundbreaking new website reveals the true impact of the war to date and invites people to bear witness to Russias ongoing crimes.
The Undeniable Street View, was formed in partnership with and in support of a collective of Ukrainian organisations (including United24, Voices of Children, Nova Ukraine and Vostok-SOS), is the worlds first interactive street-view of a live war zone made from over 100km of raw Street View footage shot by a team of Ukrainian photography experts on the ground in Ukraine.
People can walk the neighbourhoods of 6 Ukrainian cities and regions that have found themselves on the front line of an illegal invasion. Anyone from around the world can witness up close the true destruction of the streets of Kyiv, Irpin, Kharkiv, Izyum and Cherigiv and Sumy. A special feature of the site allows visitors to switch between what these neighbourhoods used to look like before the full-scale invasion, and how they look now.
The Undeniable Street View is committed to showing the reality that millions of Ukrainians are living with on a daily basis. Shot by Mykola Omelchenko, a photo journalist with years of experience, the website also acts as undeniable proof of Russias continued violence.
The Undeniable Street View is in support of a collective of Ukrainian organisations, all of which remain on the ground and are making a real difference. This includes UNITED24 (The Initiative of the President of Ukraine). Its goal is to unite people worldwide in their efforts to support Ukraine, whilst increasing donations to aid the country.
Brought together and created by communications agency and us, other partners include: VOICES OF CHILDREN who provide long-term psychological support to children affected by war as well as helping children and families directly in evacuating from the war zone. NOVA UKRAINE a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing emergency relief, humanitarian and medical aid to the people of Ukraine, and VOSTOK-SOS who has been helping evacuate people from the front-line, including people with reduced mobility and delivering humanitarian aid to those in need.
Igor Markov, from NOVA UKRAINE said: Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, people of Ukraine have endured hardship and widespread destruction, millions are now displaced. To help as many people as possible, Nova Ukraine provides medical aid, evacuation, as well as support for basic human needs and shared infrastructure. To raise awareness abroad, images of Ukrainian streets visualise the destruction and the suffering. They help people in the US and throughout the world understand the consequences of Russian aggression and the need for accountability.
A spokesperson for UNITED24 said: By partnering with The Undeniable Street View, UNITED24 wants to raise awareness specifically about their efforts to rebuild the country in the face of destruction, showcased in this interactive experience.

Talking about his involvement in the project, photographer Mykola Omelchenko said: One of the biggest weapons of war will always be the truth. As Ukraine citizens living amongst the destruction, we felt compelled to reveal the truth and highlight the daily realities of the ongoing war from our perspective. The damage cannot be denied and we want the wider world to experience first hand what is actually happening on the ground.
The Undeniable Street View is a continued reminder of Russias full-scale invasion and the fact that war is not going away. The aim of the site is not just a document of the crime, but a statement to say this is something no one in the world should accept. The site and the imagery contained within it will therefore be offered as evidence to the Office of the Prosecutor General in Ukraine (warcrimes.gov.ua).
Further photography of Ukraines destruction can be seen by the team who shot The Undeniable Street View at WARUPCLOSE.com. Using drones, street photography and panoramas, the collective has made it their mission to record the destruction metered out by Russian forces across Ukraine fighting the war with truth. Their large and impressive body of work documenting the Russian crime in Ukraine can be seen on their website (war.city). People can also visit their exhibition around the world in Washington (22nd February), Paris (24th February), Berlin (27th February), Warsaw (2nd March), Brussels (tbd).
