Young Harris College and I Beat A.L.L. Inc. Create New Scholarship Program for residents of South Atlanta
Atlanta, Georgia Feb 11, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Young Harris College is proud to announce that it has partnered with I Beat A.L.L. Inc., a nonprofit organization in Tyrone, Georgia, to create a new scholarship program for underserved individuals seeking higher education.
The Young Harris College, I Beat A.L.L. Scholarship Program is designed to meet the educational needs of Fayette County and Fayetteville. Its mission is to give students the opportunity to obtain an education that they may not otherwise be able to afford and to reward them for their academic excellence, impeccable moral conduct, and athletic abilities. The program is geared toward minority students, allowing them the experience the vast programming and opportunities at YHC, while creating a more diverse community at the school. The overall goal is for the scholarship to affect 4 students by 2023 and 44 students by 2033. $20,000 will be awarded to each student recipient. This totals nearly a million dollars, which is truly groundbreaking.
"I have always dreamed of helping students achieve their goal of higher education, regardless of their race, status, or background, said I Beat A.L.L. Co-Founder Ketrina Mitchell. Being blessed with this opportunity to partner with Young Harris College to provide scholarships does that dream come true. I believe we are going to change hundreds of lives together!"
Since its founding in 1886, Young Harris College has worked to serve the educational needs of students and families that have been underserved, said YHC President Dr. Drew Van Horn. This relationship with I Beat A.L.L. is a positive step in continuing the Colleges commitment to serving those who need a chance to succeed in their educational journeys. We are excited about this partnership, and we are grateful to our alumni and the Board of Trustees for helping this to come together in support of Fayette County students.
Young Harris College is also pleased to announce its expansion into Fayette County, with a new satellite location in Fayetteville, Georgia. YHC is thrilled to announce this partnership and the micro-site campus and looks forward to the program participants success.
